Northwest Codeshare Adds Destinations for Midwest Customers
Through a special agreement with Northwest Airlines, you can now purchase a Midwest ticket to many U.S. destinations on flights operated by Northwest. You can expand your travel horizons by connecting your Midwest flight to a Northwest-operated flight, all with a single Midwest ticket.
There are several groups of codeshare routes that allow you to connect between Midwest and Northwest-operated flights: those via Indianapolis, and those via Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle/Tacoma to Hawaii.
And as of July 26, 2008, codeshare travel is available on flights operated entirely by Northwest on routes that connect via Detroit, Memphis and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Codeshare Destinations
You can view the current list of Northwest codeshare destinations in two ways: view the
codeshare route map
or look for YX* in your itinerary display after selecting your origin and destination cities from the drop-down list.
The Convenience of a Single Electronic Ticket.
You'll still book a Midwest flight and receive a Midwest electronic ticket. One or more of your flight segments will be operated by Northwest.
One-Stop Check-In.
You'll get boarding passes for that day's flight segments when you check in.
Automatic Baggage Transfer.
Your baggage will be seamlessly transferred between flights and arrive with you at your destination.
Full Frequent Flyer Participation.
Choose either Midwest Miles or Northwest WorldPerks points, no matter which airline you have used to book your ticket, or which airline operates a particular flight. Use those miles or points for award travel on either airline. Plus, Midwest Miles earned on codeshare flights qualify toward Midwest Miles Executive status.
Where Do I Check In?
Regardless of which airline you use to book your ticket, you will check in at the gate of the airline operating your first flight segment – which is clearly identified on your ticket and in your reservation.
